As well as funding individuals to train in the disciplines of theatre, we have made a number of direct contributions to live entertainment through our own fundraising productions.

15 Minute Theatre Competition
The idea for 15 Minute or Suitcase Theatre stemmed from John Lawson, and evolved to raise funds, to stimulate imagination and to provide a platform for aspiring actors and directors regionwide. Each entry would entertain for 15 minutes with no setting and minimum props, using basic theatrical skills and being judged accordingly. The response was really inspiring, and four very successful competitions were held:
•1997, Theatre Royal, Dumfries – won by Wallace Hall Academy
•1998 – Theatre Royal, Dumfries – won by Wallace Hall Academy
•1999 – Lochside Theatre, Castle Douglas – won by Lochside Youth Theatre
•2000 – Lochside Theatre, Castle Douglas – won by Dumfries & Galloway Art School
